I am so proud that Little Innoscents has just been announced as a Finalists in the 2011 Victorian Telstra Business Awards under the Microbusiness Award category for businesses with less than 5 employees.
Telstra Business Group Managing Director and Telstra Business Awards Ambassador, Deena Shiff, said analysis of the finalists’ business performance highlighted understanding customer needs and high customer service levels were at the core of their business success.
Ms Shiff said: “The best Victorian finalists clearly have a commitment to providing top customer service that underpins their business growth.”
The selection process took place over the last several months and involved an indepth questionnaire; a site visit/interview with Telstra representatives; and the submission of my business plan.
As difficult as it was, the selection process was a productive and exciting time. It allowed me take a step back and evaluate where the business was at, which is essential but not always feasible.
One of the criteria in the Telstra Business Award involved looking at our competitors and what they’re up to, and for me this research underlined that our true difference from our competitors, is still exactly what it was when I first started five years ago – we have Australian Certified Organic ingredients… and not just a couple thrown in for good marketing measure!
We range up to 98% Australian Certified Organic, which is no mean feat. It means our producers have their farms and production factories tested by Australia’s largest and most reputable certfication body, to prove their authenticity as truly free from synthetics, chemicals, pesticides, herbicides and GM material.
Another important criteria of the Telstra Business Awards is customer service. I’m so proud that since it’s conception I have strived for nothing but the very best in customer service for Little Innoscents customers.
Many mums have been shocked to find out that when they ring the Little Innoscents ‘1300 Customer Care’ number that they reach me on my home phone! Sometimes we chat for hours – mostly about baby’s skin health and sometimes about their careers before bubs because they’ve read my story. In 2009 Little Innoscents received an Award for Excellence in Customer Service, from the Australian Acheiver Awards, and I hope I can continue to provide you with great customer service for the years to come.
From here, all finalists attend a Telstra Business Awards Business Work Shop (the evening before the Awards are announced) where we’ll get to meet the other nominees and participate in media traning.
Then finally on July 1, 2011, at the Peninsula on the Harbour Esplanade in Docklands (Melbourne) we will attend the Award ceremony where all the Victorian winners will be announced! I’ll post all the photos from the night on our blog so make sure you stay posted!
